HIMKI Attends Meeting with US Ambassador and Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN), Strengthens Furniture & Craft Position in Global Market

Jakarta, August 19, 2025 – The Chairman of the Indonesian Furniture and Craft Industry Association (HIMKI), Mr. Abdul Sobur, participated in a crucial limited meeting with the United States (US) Ambassador. The meeting was also attended by Prof. Dr. Indroyono Soesilo and the Central Board of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN Indonesia), led directly by Chairman Anindya Bakrie.
The discussion in the meeting focused on the potential market and opportunities to strengthen business cooperation between Indonesia and the United States for the next five years.
On this occasion, Mr. Abdul Sobur affirmed the importance of the furniture and craft sector as a strategic industry for the national economy. He emphasized that this industry is not only based on forest and plantation products but also plays a crucial role as a significant absorber of labor for Indonesia.
